Accountability, adaptation, and persistence

Let’s continue being real with ourselves and putting our intentions into action. Last week, we shared a framework for goal setting, creating a plan of action, and being consistent in our habits. This week, we have two more pieces of encouragement to tie it altogether.

Stay Accountable and Seek Support:

  • Accountability can greatly increase your chances of success. Share your health goals with friends, family, or a supportive community who can help hold you accountable. Consider enlisting the support of a workout buddy, joining a fitness class, or hiring a health coach to provide guidance and encouragement. Tracking your progress through journaling, apps, or wearable devices can also help you stay accountable and motivated.

Adapt and Persist:

  • In the pursuit of health goals, it’s important to remain flexible and adaptable. Life often throws unexpected challenges our way, such as busy schedules, stress, or setbacks. Instead of viewing these obstacles as barriers to progress, see them as opportunities for growth and resilience. Learn to adapt your plan as needed, but never lose sight of your ultimate goals. Persistence is key to overcoming obstacles and staying on course towards achieving your desired outcomes.

What area of your health needs your attention AND action? If you are already doing something about it, do you have anyone in your corner to encourage and troubleshoot with you? Reach out to your person today and give them an update with how things are going for you and where you might need extra support as you continue working towards your goals. Remember, progress over perfection because some action is better than no action.
